Armada shareholders clear Evernorth's merger, keeping about 473 million XRP and roughly $300 million of cash on track for an Oct 8 Nasdaq listing; the 10-year touches its highest since 2002 as the 30-year closes at 5.64%; three more tankers are hit in Hormuz; and XRP ETFs print zero again.
Where things stand
XRP spot: $1.48, CoinGecko, Thursday Oct 1, about 9:25 am ET; 24-hour range $1.48 to $1.54, down about 3.9% from Wednesday's $1.54 stamp (desk calc). Evidence verified through Oct 1, 9:35 am ET.
All eight gauges hold. The US 30Y par close rose to 5.64%, so Bond Stress stays red with its improve count at zero. Two arrows stay on. Tap any gauge for its basis, criteria and math.
- Yen Carry: worsening arrow holds. USD/JPY about 158.03, 1.97 yen under the 160 close trigger.
- XRP Flows: improving arrow holds. Week two at $3.96M after three prints against $39.78M, with two left.

Top 3 things that matter
1. Evernorth clears vote; 473 million XRP behind an Oct 8 listing
High✓ VerifiedThe last shareholder gate is passed; closing and the listing remain conditional, and redemptions shrank the trust, not the treasury.
2. 10-year touches highest since 2002; 30-year par closes 5.64%
High✓ VerifiedLong yields keep climbing past the stress trigger as a global government bond selloff spreads.
3. Three more tankers hit in Hormuz as Iran weighs US reply
High✓ VerifiedNew strikes keep the Hormuz improve count at zero while diplomacy runs alongside them.

Ranked items
1Evernorth clears vote; 473 million XRP behind an Oct 8 listing
High✓ VerifiedArmada Acquisition Corp. II shareholders approved the business combination with Evernorth on Sept 30: 20,514,034 votes for and 1,362,081 against, with about 69% of eligible shares represented (Armada 8-K). Evernorth expects closing Oct 7 and Nasdaq trading as XRPN from Oct 8, subject to closing conditions and listing approval (Evernorth release). Neither date is in the 8-K.
The treasury is the core asset. Evernorth expects to hold about 473 million XRP at closing, worth about $700 million at $1.48 (desk calc). The S-4 put holdings at 473.1 million XRP on Dec 31, 2025 (CoinDesk), held in conditional pre-closing custody and returnable if the deal fails (CryptoSlate). The stack reconciles to 126.8 million from Ripple, 211.3 million via the sponsor from RippleWorks, 50 million from a Ripple-affiliated trust and 84.4 million bought for $214.1 million (desk calc of filed tranches). Add about $300 million of gross cash and the combined base is roughly $1.0 billion before expenses (desk calc).
The trust is the smallest piece. Only about $48 million of that cash comes from the SPAC trust, which held $241.9 million on Aug 20 (proxy statement), implying heavy public redemptions (desk inference; no count filed). Redemptions cut the public float, not the XRP. Under the August amendment, private-placement shares are scaled to the closing XRP price, so those investors, not public holders, absorb the drop from the $2.37 signing price.
Closing is not new XRP demand; buying with post-close cash would be.
210-year touches highest since 2002; 30-year par closes 5.64%
High✓ VerifiedThe US 30-year par yield closed at 5.64% on Wednesday, Sept 30, on Treasury's daily par curve, up 5bp from 5.59% and 14bp above the 5.50 trigger that holds Bond Stress red. The 20-year closed 5.68%, the 10-year 5.29% and the 2-year 4.88%, so the curve steepened again from the long end. Thursday the 10-year traded as high as 5.3338%, its highest since April 2002, and the 30-year 5.6702%, highest since July 2002, as a global government bond selloff reached the UK and France (CNBC citing LSEG). These are intraday levels, not closes; Trading Economics showed the 10-year near 5.31% at about 9:25 am ET.
Equities have not followed yields down hard. The S&P 500 fell 0.3% to 7,651.54 Wednesday while the Nasdaq rose 0.2% (AP), and Cboe VIX closed 16.34 (Yahoo Finance). The MOVE index has not posted a close after Sept 28's 101.82 (Investing.com). Bloomberg reports more than half of 173 Markets Pulse respondents expect the 30-year at 6% by year-end: a survey, not a forecast the desk adopts.
Bond Stress improves only on five consecutive par closes at or below 5.50; the count is zero.
3Three more tankers hit in Hormuz as Iran weighs US reply
High✓ VerifiedUKMTO issued three late warnings on Sept 30 (144-26, 145-26 and 146-26) for tankers struck by unknown projectiles in the Strait of Hormuz on Sept 29, each from a verified source (UKMTO; bne IntelliNews). UKMTO gave no vessel names, flags, damage or attribution; names circulating in trade press come from private security firms, not UKMTO. With the Sept 28 strike that makes four in two days, after Iran claimed attacks on 19 vessels Sept 25 and 26 (Seatrade Maritime).
Diplomacy and strikes are running in parallel. Iranian officials said Wednesday the US answer to Tehran's seven-day plan was a counterproposal the government is now considering (CBS News). Trump told TIME it was "possible" strikes resume after the midterms and that "with Iran, I don't think you could ever have peace" (CBS News citing TIME), and denied offering sanctions relief (CNBC). Counter-evidence to a closed strait: Kpler puts Gulf crude and fuel exports near prewar levels via alternate routes and a US-protected corridor (AP via CBS News), traffic the desk's Reuters transit series excludes.
Hormuz improves only after five sessions at or above the ten-day average with no new strike; the Sept 29 strikes keep the count at zero, and Reuters' counts after Sept 24 were not located.
4XRP ETFs print zero again; week two needs $35.82 million
High✓ VerifiedUS spot XRP ETFs recorded zero net flows on Wednesday, Sept 30, with all five funds flat on SoSoValue (marked update completed), matched by CoinGlass; the match reflects shared issuer disclosures, not two independent estimates. It is the second flat day running. Net assets were $1.68 billion and cumulative inflows $1.79 billion on SoSoValue, with $53.86 million traded.
Week two stands at $3.96 million after three prints, all from Monday's Canary XRPC inflow, $35.82 million short of the $39.78 million reference with two sessions left, about $17.91 million a session (desk calc). Week one's best day was $22.65 million, so the pace is reachable but needs two strong days in a row. The gauge waits for the weekly print; the tape does not substitute for it.
Context, not a gauge input: US spot bitcoin ETFs lost $148.7 million Wednesday, led by Fidelity's FBTC at $125.6 million out (Farside Investors). XRP fell about 3.9% to $1.48 since Wednesday's stamp, so flat fund flows did not cushion price.
5November Brent expires at $103.50; December takes over
High✓ VerifiedNovember Brent expired Sept 30 at $103.50, up 0.9%, and December settled $98.03, up 1.9% (FinanceFeeds; Trading Economics shows the same $98.03 prior close). The $5.47 gap is the roll, not a price fall: both contracts rose on the day. December traded about $99.79 at 9:25 am ET Thursday, up 1.8%, after touching $100.11 (Trading Economics).
The roll matters for two gauges. Macro Backdrop improves on five consecutive front-month settles under $100.00; Wednesday's front-month settle was November's $103.50, so the count is still zero. The Oct 1 settle is the first December front-month print, and with December trading within a quarter of $100 it could open the count or not on a few cents. The desk counts as written and will label a roll-driven count in the basis. Oil Shock improves only on a settle below $90.00, about $9.79 away (desk calc).
Supply reads are mixed: Trading Economics reports Saudi loadings resumed at Yanbu after the East-West pipeline restart, while PetroChina reportedly withdrew October gasoline and jet cargoes. OPEC+ is expected to hold November quotas at its meeting this weekend.
6Yen passes 158 as Takaichi flags undervaluation
Medium✓ VerifiedUSD/JPY rose to about 158.03 at 9:25 am ET after a 157.42 Wednesday close (Trading Economics), 1.97 yen under the 160 close trigger with no three-yen session. Prime Minister Takaichi said she told Trump the yen's undervaluation was a problem when they met last month, adding that her policy "is not aimed at manipulating exchange rates" (Reuters via Investing.com; CNBC). The BOJ's September summary of opinions pointed to another hike this year without a timing signal, which Trading Economics cited for the yen's slide.
Tracked inputs, not triggers: JGB 10Y about 3.102%, up 3.6bp; US-Japan 10Y spread about 221bp (desk calc, 5.313 minus 3.102), up about 4bp, wider, the opposite of an unwind; Brent in yen about 15,770 (desk calc, 99.79 x 158.03), up 4.6% since Sept 1 against 6.1% in dollars, a change that spans the December roll.
Verbal warnings have not stopped the drift. Intervention risk rises near 160, but the desk records intervention only when the Ministry of Finance confirms it.
7XRPL votes: Batch and Delegation on track, lending short
Medium✓ VerifiedBatchV1_1 holds 30 of 35 validator votes and fixBatchV1_2 34 of 35, both with majority, putting earliest activation on Oct 9, about 10:12 to 10:46 am ET (XRPScan API; desk conversion of the majority timestamps). PermissionDelegationV1_1 holds 29 of 35, one above the 28-vote threshold, with earliest activation Oct 8 about 5:25 pm ET. A drop to 28 votes resets either clock.
The lending stack is not close. LendingProtocolV1_1 sits at 4 of 35, SingleAssetVault at 19 (from 17 on Sept 25) and LendingProtocol at 15 (from 13), each needing 28 held for two weeks. The Ripple, Clearpool and Cicada RLUSD credit fund still depends on those amendments, so it remains a pre-mainnet project.
Amendments never move a gauge and count as verified only once enabled on ledger.
8Sweep: a Hormuz boast relay and an XRPN overstatement
Medium✓ VerifiedA monitored-account relay quoting Trump that the US now moves more oil through Hormuz than before the war, and that "there's not a thing they can do to stop us," was not found in a primary or Tier 2 source; it is logged UNVERIFIED. The State Department separately told CBS that vessels transit the strait daily under US guard, a narrower statement that does not carry the prewar comparison.
Posts framing Oct 8 as XRP itself listing on Nasdaq overstate the event. What would list is Evernorth's Class A common stock, and only if closing conditions and Nasdaq approval are met; buyers get shares in a company holding XRP, not XRP. The listing claim is logged UNVERIFIED until shares trade, and the expected dates are logged separately as the company's stated expectation.
