Evernorth moves its expected close to about Oct 9 and XRPN trading to about Oct 12 after the SPAC shell halves; Brent settles 58 cents above $100, keeping the count at zero; Saudi Arabia says its East-West pipeline is back to 5.8 million barrels a day as Houthi attacks reach its airports; and XRP ETFs take $3.14 million.
Where things stand
XRP spot: $1.46, Coinbase Exchange last trade, Wednesday Oct 7, about 9:30 am ET; down about 3% from Tuesday's $1.51 Coinbase stamp, with Trading Economics showing $1.44 at about the same time. Evidence verified through Oct 7, 9:30 am ET.
All eight gauges hold. December Brent settled $100.58 Tuesday, 58 cents above the Macro Backdrop line, so the sub-$100 count stays at zero; the 30-year par close of 5.64% keeps Bond Stress at its top level. Tap any gauge for its basis, criteria and math.
- Yen Carry: worsening arrow holds. USD/JPY about 158.27 Wednesday, 1.73 yen under the 160 close trigger.

Top 3 things that matter
1. Evernorth moves its close to about Oct 9, XRPN to about Oct 12
High✓ VerifiedThe issuer's own filing moves both dates and still reports no redemptions, so the XRP and cash remain projections.

High✓ VerifiedA second straight settle just over $100 keeps the only Macro Backdrop count that can move the gauge at zero.
3. Saudi says East-West pipeline is back to 5.8 million bpd
High✓ VerifiedThe Hormuz bypass is running near capacity while Houthi attacks spread, and both sit in the oil price.

Ranked items
1Evernorth moves its close to about Oct 9, XRPN to about Oct 12
High✓ VerifiedEvernorth said in an Oct 6 Form 8-K that, "due to an administrative delay that is not expected to affect the closing," its business combination with Armada Acquisition Corp. II is now expected to close on or about Oct 9, with Class A shares expected to begin trading on Nasdaq as XRPN on or about Oct 12, both subject to customary closing conditions and listing requirements (SEC). The prior targets were an Oct 7 close and Oct 8 trading. The filing repeats that Armada shareholders approved the deal Sept 30. It reports no redemptions, cash or XRP balance, so the roughly 473 million XRP and about $300 million of gross cash remain closing projections, not completed transfers.
Separately, the Armada shell, which already trades as XRPN, closed $19.20 on Tuesday, down 50.32% on about 2.75 million shares, after $38.65 Monday and $39.42 Friday; it traded near $10.55 through September (StockAnalysis). That close came at 4 pm ET, before the delay was announced that evening, so the drop was not a reaction to it. Pre-market Wednesday showed $20.52.
Why it matters: the XRP and cash sit inside a listed company only at closing. Until a closing 8-K states redemptions and cash, no new XRP demand from Evernorth can be counted.
Counter-evidence: a two-day administrative slip says little about deal risk, and the company does not expect it to affect closing. Armada also filed an Oct 5 8-K under Items 1.01 and 3.03 that the desk has not yet read in full.
2Brent settles $100.58, 58 cents above the line
High✓ VerifiedDecember Brent settled $100.58 on Tuesday, up 26 cents, and November WTI settled $89.44, up 1 cent (Reuters via CNBC). Brent traded as low as $97.8 during the session before paring the drop (Trading Economics). Reuters tied the pressure to resilient Middle Eastern exports and the G7 stock release, and the support to Houthi attacks on Saudi targets. On Wednesday morning Brent traded about $101.4 to $102.1 on Trading Economics.
The head of Vitol said about 12 million barrels a day of crude and 2 million of products left the Middle East on tankers in the last 7 to 10 days (Reuters via BOE Report). The EIA outlook released Tuesday projects world petroleum production falling to 101.1 million bpd in 2026 from a record 106.3 million in 2025, and demand to 102.4 million from 104.4 million (Reuters via CNBC).
Why it matters: Macro Backdrop can improve only on five straight settles below $100. Monday missed by 32 cents and Tuesday by 58, so the count is still zero, and Wednesday's trade above $101 points away from a start.
Counter-evidence: an intraday low near $97.8 shows the line is within reach of a single session, and recovering Gulf flows are the pressure pushing toward it.
3Saudi says East-West pipeline is back to 5.8 million bpd
High✓ VerifiedSaudi Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman said Tuesday that oil through the East-West pipeline reached about 5.8 million barrels a day that morning, speaking at the Made in GCC Forum in Bahrain (The National, Al Jazeera). The National puts capacity at up to 7 million bpd; it is the kingdom's only crude export route that avoids Hormuz.
That figure is on the record. A Monday report that flows stopped is not confirmed: an unnamed energy-sector source told AFP the line was attacked Oct 4 at a Khurais pumping station east of Riyadh and "stopped again" (Türkiye Today), while a source told Reuters the same day that flows were not interrupted. The minister did not say whether any stoppage occurred between Sunday and Tuesday.
The attacks are widening. The Saudi aviation authority said Jazan and Najran airports were targeted in two attacks Monday evening (Reuters via BOE Report), and Saudi forces said Tuesday they intercepted a Houthi missile aimed at the southwest (CBS News), as Saudi-backed Yemeni forces press an offensive.
Why it matters: with Hormuz still disrupted, this pipeline is the swing route for Saudi supply, and 5.8 million bpd is the counterweight to the attacks in the oil price.
Counter-evidence: the route has been hit and shut before, including Sept 11 to 22, so one morning's figure does not establish it is secure.
430-year par yield eases to 5.64% as the 2-year drops
Medium✓ VerifiedTreasury's par curve put the 30-year at 5.64% and the 10-year at 5.27% on Tuesday, down from 5.66% and 5.31% Monday, while the 2-year fell 5 basis points to 4.79% (U.S. Treasury). The 2s30s gap widened to 85 basis points from 82 (desk calc), so the front end rallied more than the long end. Every 30-year close since Sept 28 remains above the desk's 5.50% line.
Wednesday's tape gave some of that back: Trading Economics showed the 10-year about 5.34% on market quotes and the dollar index up about 0.5%, ahead of minutes from the Sept 16 Fed meeting due today.
Why it matters: Bond Stress improves only on five straight 30-year par closes at or below 5.50%. The count is zero of five, and Tuesday's close sits 14 basis points above the line.
Counter-evidence: credit is not confirming stress. ICE BofA high-yield spreads were 3.12% on Oct 5, barely changed from 3.10% on Oct 2 (FRED).
5XRP ETFs take $3.14 million as two issuers redeem
Medium✓ VerifiedSoSoValue and CoinGlass both show US spot XRP ETFs taking a net $3.14 million on Oct 6, matching fund by fund: Bitwise +$10.55 million, Franklin -$4.07 million, Canary -$3.34 million, 21Shares and Grayscale zero. A match to the decimal reflects convergence on the same issuer disclosures, not two independent estimates. In XRP terms SoSoValue shows about 2.09 million XRP net in (desk calc, 7.03M less 2.71M and 2.23M).
The week of Oct 5 stands at $3.14 million against the $39.78 million reference after Monday's zero, leaving about $36.64 million needed from Wednesday to Friday (desk calc). SoSoValue puts cumulative net inflow at $1.79 billion and net assets at $1.70 billion, 1.79% of XRP's market cap. CoinGlass's cumulative reads $1.71 billion, a gap sitting mostly in Grayscale's starting base: a definition difference, not a flow disagreement.
Why it matters: XRP Flows improves only on two straight weeks at or above $39.78 million and worsens only on a verified net weekly outflow. A small positive day moves neither test, and two of the three funds that traded flows redeemed.
6Crypto slides with stocks as the dollar and yields climb
Medium✓ VerifiedCrypto fell with other risk assets Wednesday morning. Trading Economics showed bitcoin about $83,500, down 2.4%, ether about $2,570, down roughly 4.5%, and XRP about $1.44, down 3.5%; Coinbase Exchange showed XRP last at $1.46 against a 24-hour open of $1.498 and a low of $1.429. The dollar index rose about 0.5% to 102.4, the US 10-year traded near 5.34%, the Nikkei 225 fell about 1.5% and European indexes fell 1.2% to 2.3%, while gold fell about 1.8% (Trading Economics).
The desk located no single trigger. Trading Economics described US stock futures as falling from record levels.
Why it matters: this reads as a dollar-and-yields morning, not a crypto-specific event, and XRP's drop tracked the broad market rather than any XRP news the desk found. Global Risk Appetite holds at MIXED: one session, and the gauge has no pre-registered test.
Counter-evidence: intraday aggregator prints lag and diverge (Coinbase and Trading Economics differ by about 2 cents on XRP), and a morning sell-off can reverse by the close.
7Yen nears two-week low as Takaichi pledges a food tax cut
Medium✓ VerifiedUSD/JPY traded about 158.27 Wednesday morning on Trading Economics, with the yen near two-week lows around 158.5 at its weakest. Prime Minister Takaichi pledged in parliament to cut the consumption tax on food, funded without new bond issuance. August real wages rose 1.5% from a year earlier, an eighth straight gain, and BOJ board member Ayano Sato, who dissented from the September hike, said she favours raising rates gradually in stages (Trading Economics).
The 10-year JGB was about 3.113%, slipping below 3.1% intraday from near 30-year highs. The US-Japan 10-year spread is about 223 basis points (desk calc, 5.342 minus 3.113 on market quotes), from 218 in Tuesday's brief.
Why it matters: the Yen Carry trigger is a close above 160 or a three-yen session; the yen is 1.73 yen from the close trigger and no session has moved three yen. A wider spread with a softer yen is the opposite of an unwind, which needs the gap to narrow while the yen rallies.
Counter-evidence: rising real wages and a board member leaning toward further hikes raise the odds of an October or December BOJ move, which would push the yen the other way.
8XRPL: Permission Delegation nears its earliest activation
Medium✓ VerifiedXRPScan's API shows PermissionDelegationV1_1 at 28 of 34 validators against a threshold of 27, with majority held since Sept 24 at 21:25 UTC, putting its earliest activation at Oct 8 about 21:25 UTC (desk calc, two weeks after majority). BatchV1_1 shows 29 of 34 and fixBatchV1_2 34 of 34, with earliest activation Oct 9 about 14:46 and 14:12 UTC. The validator count now reads 34 with a threshold of 27, from 35 and 28 in Tuesday's read.
The Lending Protocol (XLS-66) sits at 16 of 34 and its V1_1 at 14, and Single Asset Vaults at 18, all short of majority.
Why it matters: Permission Delegation activates only if support holds above the threshold for the full two weeks, and its margin is one validator. An amendment counts as verified only once enabled on ledger, and amendments never move a gauge.
